Description:  Experience history come to life along the lantern lit trails as spirits from Starved Rock’s past reveal their haunted tales and memories of times gone by.  Hikes are approximately 30-45 minutes in length and there are at least 8 stops (spirits) along the way to the top of Starved Rock our sandstone butte that stands 125 feet above the Illinois River.  Headlamps or small flashlights are recommended.  All participants should be respectful of the tour guides and the reenactors along the trail.  This is not meant to be a gory, scary type of hike but an educational and historical reenactment type of tour.  NOT suitable for children under the age of 10 years old or dogs.
