Description: Another way to partake in Falltober Fest at the park is to enjoy the splendor of fall foliage at Starved Rock State Park while learning all about the history, geology, and ecology such as “why do leaves change color in the fall?” by partaking in one of the guided hikes starting from the Visitor Center at 10 and 1 out to areas of the park like Starved Rock and French Canyon (.8 miles roundtrip), and Wildcat Canyon loop including Eagle Cliff and Lovers Leap (2 miles roundtrip). Both hikes will provide optimum photographic opportunities of the park’s fall colors.
