The Starved Rock Historical and Educational Foundation is a not-forprofit organization, established in 1991 and dedicated to the preservation of the area’s natural heritage and advancement of educational programming at Starved Rock and Matthiessen State Parks. The Starved Rock Foundation assists IDNR staff with a variety of activities and programs throughout the year, including leading guided hikes, sponsoring educational programs, assisting with special events, staffing the information desk at the Visitor Center, operating the Foundation’s “Le Rocher” Gift shop, and
more.

Membership dues are the backbone of our support.
Active members volunteer their time and services for events and activities on behalf of the site. Supporting members offer primarily financial support.
