• Art in the Park Workshop

  

   

  Description:  Park Naturalist Lisa Sons will show you step-by-step how to paint a red fox in acrylic paints.  Canvas, paints, brushes, instruction, and fun are provided for FREE thanks to funding from the not-for-profit friend’s group the Starved Rock Foundation.  Donations are welcome.  Participants are more than welcome to bring their own snacks and drinks (non-alcoholic please).  The program is not suitable for children under the age of 16.

• Starved Rock Saplings Story Time-Going Batty!

  

  Description:  We will be going batty at the park for Falltober Fest on October 21st.  Join us for a fun kids program that morning where we will read a storybook on bats, explore the different species of bats found in Illinois, and play a fun game about bats and their favorite food moths!

• Incredible Bats Presents Animals from Around the World!

  

  Description:  Falltober Fest will showcase several presenters at the Visitor Center including Sharon and Dave Peterson from Incredible Bats, Inc.  You will follow them on a journey through 6 continents with a chance to view mammals, reptiles, birds, and arthropods from each.  There will be opportunities to interact with several of the animals during the show.  Please be respectful and quiet during the show to all wildlife.
